Like the time when he was sick while they were at Ayumi's apartment, and they met a boy who was then taken by a pair pretending to be his parents. They sent a picture of all three and told him what happened, and he figured it out easily.

They lost contact or something before getting the full explanation, so of course they went and got themselves trapped, while Conan went on to find out what the criminals' aim was, and eventually Conan brought his sick self to the scene (along with the cops), and afterwards, they came down sick while he had recovered.

I remember that case that was an interesting case though and this was from 2012

I think it was a pretty good example because not everyone is going to break down once they have been caught or feel regret over what they have done, nor is everyone going to have a decent reason for killing or even if its a semi-decent reason they do it with ill will and the 'good reason' is just an excuse to them. Main story Conan has way to many culprits who collapse into sentimentality from a stupid chunii sentence from conan despite being horrible people, its a little of putting.
